50 years of Cantoblanco in the 'Revista Comillas'.
Issue 111 of the magazine, which runs from September to December, devotes a special issue to the half-century of the arrival of the university in Madrid
8 January 2024
Fifty years ago, the Cantoblanco campus of the Comillas Pontifical University began operating with the Faculty of Theology and the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts. In issue 111 of the Revista Comillas we wanted to celebrate the anniversary of this space for knowledge and reflection in which, each year, more than 2,000 students are trained in undergraduate, master's and postgraduate courses, many of them pioneers in Spain.
It is not the only thing that is being celebrated. The University's Employment Forum, one of the most important job placement events on the Spanish university scene, has also celebrated its silver jubilee in 2023. We analyse how the labour market and the forum have changed in these twenty-five years of life.
We also interview Belén Urosa, Vice-Rector for Alumni and Students. Also current issues such as caregiving in an increasingly ageing society and the Israel-Palestine conflict from the perspective of former Israeli Foreign Minister Shlomo Ben Ami.
Alumni are leading the transformation that society needs. Ignacio Pérez Arriaga, alumni and lecturer at Comillas ICAI, continues to make history by bringing electricity to developing countries, especially in Africa, and several alumni talk about pioneering initiatives to make fashion a more sustainable industry.
All this and much more in issue 111 of the magazine.
