The 'Bioética Básica Comillas' Collection, organised by the Chair of Bioethics at the Faculty of Theology, has just published a new work by the authors José Sols Lucía and María Elizabeth de los Ríos Uriarte entitled Bioética de la inteligencia artificial, in collaboration with Editorial San Pablo (2024, ISBN: 978-84-285-7222-4).
The summary of the work is given below:
This book addresses, from a bioethical perspective, the influence on our lives of artificial intelligence and robotics, their benefits and risks. After establishing the framework for understanding the subject and giving a brief history of artificial intelligence, the book sets out an ethics of artificial intelligence and robotics and addresses, in its broadest part, some of the questions that arise from bioethics when trying to introduce both into medicine in general, especially in the care of the sick and elderly, in clinical centres, in pharmaceutical activity, or in the doctor-patient relationship. Nor does it forget the proposals of transhumanism and posthumanism, which propose introducing new technologies into the human body in order to create a new species: posthumans.
The book can be purchased from the Editorial San Pablo website by clicking here.
