Last Friday, 8 November 2024, Professor Rafael Amo contributed his reflections to the 17th Seminar on Biomedicine, Ethics and Human Rights, under the theme "Bioethics, Religion and Spirituality". This seminar was organised by the Francisco Vallés Institute of Clinical Ethics, the European University and the ASISA Foundation.
In this context, Professor Amo was in charge of discerning, as a Catholic, on the clinical relationship at the round table, which also included the intervention of the Jewish and Islamic faiths. Professor Amo, as an expert in Bioethics, offered keys for dealing with the healthcare relationship from a Catholic perspective.
Professor Rafael Amo Usanos holds a PhD in Theology and Philosophy from the Department of Moral Theology and Praxis of Christian Life, and is a recognised expert in Bioethics. Since 2019 he has been Director of the Chair of Bioethics at Comillas Pontifical University. His latest publications include the article "'En Dios sé quién soy'. El papel de la experiencia cristiana en la identidad biográfica" (Estudios Eclesiásticos, vol. 99, núm. 390, September 2024) and the book Inteligencia artificial y Bioética (Comillas 2023).
