Santiago Madrigal, SJ, PhD, Professor of the Faculty of Theology, who recently passed away

Last Wednesday, 31 January 2024, took place the in Memoriam session of the Royal Academy of Doctors, in honour of the Academicians of the Theology section who have recently passed away. Among them is Santiago Madrigal, SJ, PhD, who has been a Full Academician, in the section of Theology, and who took office on 27 January 2010, until his death on 7 September 2023.
During the session, the laudatio of the late Professor Madrigal was given by Gabino Uríbarri Bilbao, SJ, PhD, also a Professor in the Faculty of Theology at Comillas.
Professor Uríbarri's tribute in memoriam to Madrigal, PhD, was entitled "Knight-errant of Ignatian ecclesiology". In it, the expert Professor in Christology delved into the scientific work of Madrigal, PhD, as Ignatian ecclesial mystagogy, to conclude with the confession of life that Madrigal, PhD, has shown through illness.
