Comillas holds the 5th edition of the awards ceremony for the best End of Degree Projects in STEM Education
These awards recognise rigour, effort and research in educational innovation projects

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (Comillas CIHS) held the 5th edition of the Awards for the Best End of Degree Projects in STEM Education for the 2023/2024 academic year, an initiative that seeks to promote quality and innovation in the teaching of scientific and technological disciplines. Thanks to the support of companies such as Cognizant and Iberdrola, Marta Jun Ricote and Gabriela Lastra were recognised for their work as future lecturers.

In this edition, nine students presented original, rigorous and innovative projects in STEM Education. The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Susanne M. Cadera. During the event, Javier Barroso, representing Cognizant, and Carmen de Haro, representing Iberdrola, highlighted the value of STEM/STEAM education and its impact on future generations.
The awarded students, Ricote and Lastra, shared their proposals in a dialogue presentation, in which they explained their projects and the motivation behind them.
The prizes were awarded to:
- Cognizant Award for Best End of Degree Project in STEM Education: Marta Jun Ricote, for her innovation project "ConCienciArte, an innovation project for girls and boys with High Abilities in Early Childhood Education".
- Iberdrola Award for the Best End of Degree Project in STEM Education: Gabriela Lastra, for her innovation and research work "Active Learning and Engagement for STEM Education".
To close the day, lecturer Teresa de Alba moderated a round table with the participation of three alumni awarded in previous editions: Ana González, Carmen Tortosa and Silvia Alvarado. All of them shared their experience and reflected on the impact of an innovative education committed to STEM education.
