More than 400 participants competed in eight categories: 7-a-side football (men), futsal (men and women), basketball (men and women), volleyball (men, women and mixed) paddle tennis (men and women), tennis (men and women), table tennis (men and women) and chess. In addition, for the entertainment of all, two new activities were introduced; pickleball and cheerleading.
At the end of the competitions, and after the exhibitions by the cheerleading teams from Deusto and Esade, the awards ceremony was held in the presence of the Secretary General of UNIJES, Enrique López Viguria; the Vice-Rector for Identity and Mission and Students and Alumni, Jaime Tatay SJ, as well as his deputy, José Manuel Saénz Rotko.
On this occasion, Comillas won first place in several of the sports in which it competed, which allowed it to become the overall champion of the XXV UNIJES 2025 Sports Tournament.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of this tournament, Comillas Bienestar took care of all the details to guarantee the highest standards of quality. The tournament was sponsored by Chef fruit, Lacasitos, Clarins and the ISONDOS group, with the collaboration of the Campus Arrupe cafeteria and volunteers from the "San Juan de Dios" School of Nursing and Physical Therapy, who carried out both nursing and physical therapy work. We also had the support of the university's Graphic Design colleagues, who prepared all the graphic material, which was also applied to the medals and the tournament's souvenir trophy and overall champion. This trophy, which was highly appreciated by the participants and the representatives of UNIJES, was made in 3D printing in the Comillas ICAI manufacturing laboratory, thanks to the collaboration of Mariano Giménez and his students.
For the first time, the competition was managed through the Competize app, the same one used to manage the internal competitions of Comillas Bienestar, thanks to which the participants could comfortably follow the schedules, results and final classification on their mobiles.
After the awards ceremony, the institutional dinner was held at the Hotel Ilunion de Pio XII, which was attended by representatives of all the participating institutions.
