The Church of La Inmaculada y San Pedro Claver at the University was the ideal setting to celebrate the first edition of "beauty and silences". This initiative, organised by Comillas Espiritualidad and Comillas Arte, sought to create a space to pray, reflect and meet in community, in which, through the contemplation of the beauty that surrounds us in the world, we can come closer to God.

In this first edition, the Prayer had a clear focus: Peace. This was dramatised with an opposition between light and darkness based on the biblical account of creation in the book of Genesis and the fifth chapter of the Gospel according to St. Matthew.
With the focus on Peace, and always keeping the light in mind, the convulsion of our world was reflected upon. As Lluis Salinas, SJ, director of Comillas Espiritualidad, mentioned at the opening, "wars, conflicts, suffering, pain and death seem to be everywhere; darkness surrounds us and there seems to be no trace of light. In this place we may come to ask where is God, and it is precisely at these times that we must turn our gaze to Him and remember the words of the psalmist: "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me".
A very special activity that has undoubtedly united part of the university community in a celebration of peace, music, prayer and meditation.
