Comillas and Endesa boost sustainable mobility through artificial intelligence
Industry experts present advances in digitisation and predictive maintenance for the mobility of the future
28 October 2024
Comillas hosted the 2nd Industrial Experiences Conference, an event organised by the CEndesa Chair for Applications of Artificial Intelligence to Data-Based Maintenance (Comillas ICAI), in collaboration with Endesa. This event explored the impact of artificial intelligence on sustainable mobility and the maintenance industry. Under the key question "How can AI facilitate mobility?", the conference opened with a presentation by Rafael González, General Manager of Generation at Endesa, who stressed that "the mobility of the future will be electric, sustainable, autonomous and interconnected", and that, in the current "fourth industrial revolution", digitalisation plays a central role.
During the meeting, digitalisation projects and the use of data to improve processes and increase efficiency in various sectors were presented. Experts from Endesa, such as Tomás Álvarez, Daniel González, Pedro Arteaga and Javier Espinosa, illustrated how they are evolving towards a digital maintenance culture that optimises resources and prevents failures, contributing to a more agile and connected industry.
The event also featured initiatives from companies from other sectors, including Airbus, CAF and Antolin, represented by Rocío Martín, Vicente Gutiérrez and Lorena Gil, who presented projects in predictive analytics and data management. All participants highlighted the potential of AI to optimise maintenance, prevent failures and improve the user experience for both employees and customers.
From the Chair of AI Applications to Maintenance, Comillas Pontifical University reaffirms its commitment to training and technological development, thanking all attendees and, in particular, Antonio Muñoz, director of Comillas ICAI, and Miguel Ángel Sanz, director of the chair, for their support in promoting a culture of sustainability and efficiency in the energy sector.
