Comillas and Gartner collaborate to deepen AI practice and strategy at universities
The event was held in the framework of the pilot with Microsoft Copilot 365

In an effort to lead the digital transformation in the field of education, our university has started the pilot testing phase of Microsoft 365 Copilot, coordinated by the Office of the Vice-Rector for Organization and Digital Transformation. This project seeks to integrate advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies that are designed to improve academic and administrative productivity. As such, this initiative represents an important step in our university's aspiration to modernise its institutional practices and processes at all times.
As part of the project activities, we held a collaborative event entitled "Scale-Up with Generative A.I.", designed with Gartner as a PLAYSHOP workshop. The objective was to deepen the practical and strategic application of AI in our university. The workshop was led by Fabrizio Magnani, senior executive partner at Gartner, who introduced critical topics such as cognitive biases in AI, human-machine interaction, and the importance of effective strategic planning for technology adoption.
During the event, participants, organised in groups, engaged in an interactive hands-on exercise where several potential AI use cases were presented. Each group selected a use case to explore its implementation using analytical tools such as the Gartner Opportunity Radar and the Gartner Use Case Prism, thereby providing a structured methodology for evaluating and prioritising technology innovation projects.
The event served as a frame of reference for participants, facilitating the integration of learnings into the ongoing pilot project with Microsoft 365 Copilot, as well as enriching the understanding of the ability to apply AI effectively in our business context.
These initiatives reflect our institution's strong commitment to technological leadership and digital leadership in higher education, preparing our community to meet the challenges of the future with the most advanced tools. Within the new digital age and artificial intelligence, our university is actively shaping the future of education with innovations that set a new standard and confirm its position as a leader in the adoption of new technologies in the education sector.
