What is the Expert Diploma in Railway Systems Management and Operation?

In response to this demand, the Expert Diploma in Management and Operation of Railway Systems provides comprehensive knowledge on the organisation and management of railway systems, covering legal, economic and operational aspects.

This diploma, made up of 4 subjects from the Master's Degree in Railway Systems (MSF), totalling 12 ECTS, is aimed at working professionals seeking to complement their training with specific content from the Master's Degree. This makes it one of the sectors with the greatest investments in Europe and Spain. Since 2008, the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería (ICAI) has addressed this educational need with the Master's Degree in Railway Systems (MSF), a complete 60 ECTS programme. The Expert Diploma in Management and Operation of Railway Systems is part of the MSF, and is designed to meet the need for specific advanced training for professionals in this field, providing a competitive advantage to those who wish to further their career in the sector.

Methodology

  • Laboratory classes in ICAI computer rooms using professional software for analysis, simulation and design of railway systems.

The tradition of the School of Engineering (Comillas ICAI) in the training of engineers began in Madrid in 1908. Today, Comillas ICAI is a polytechnic school whose academic activity focuses on Industrial and Telecommunications Engineering.

  • Because Comillas studies are in high demand and places are limited, the best candidates have to be selected through admission tests.

  • Each class has its own tutor, whose function is to integrate the student into the group and to pay attention to their academic performance. Furthermore, at Comillas, the teaching system is distinguished, among other characteristics, by the personalised attention and the fluid and permanent relationship between teachers and students.

  • The Comillas education system is especially oriented towards the relationship with the reality of companies, institutions, organisations and professional practice. The Careers, Internships and Employment Guidance Service (OPE) is responsible for providing students with internships related to their studies in order to enrich their training. In the 2022-23 academic year, 7,101 student internships in companies were managed.

  • The Professional Careers, Internships and Employment Guidance Service (OPE) is the University's service dedicated to informing, guiding and collaborating in the insertion of recent graduates in the labour market or in the projection of the professional careers of Comillas graduates, for which it has an online tool that directly connects candidates with 8,302 companies with which Comillas maintains a relationship. During the 2022-23 academic year, 1,542 job offers were managed. Of the total number of graduates from the 2021 graduating class, 92% are employed, either working or furthering their studies, within six months of completing their studies.
