Methodology

  • Classroom classes, with special attention to the study of real cases and experiences.
  • Practical classes in railway facilities of collaborating companies (workshops, laboratories, control centres, rolling stock factories, etc.), led by professionals from these facilities.
  • Laboratory classes in ICAI computer rooms using professional software for the analysis, simulation and design of railway systems.
  • Individual and group work.

The master's degree uses information and communication technologies through the University's training tool, with access to extensive teaching documentation for each subject, updated on the reality of the railway sector.

The tradition of the School of Engineering (Comillas ICAI) in the training of engineers began in Madrid in 1908. Today, Comillas ICAI is a polytechnic school whose academic activity focuses on Industrial and Telecommunications Engineering.

  • Because Comillas studies are in high demand and places are limited, the best candidates have to be selected through admission tests.

  • Each class has its own tutor, whose function is to integrate the student into the group and to pay attention to their academic performance. Furthermore, at Comillas, the teaching system is distinguished, among other characteristics, by the personalised attention and the fluid and permanent relationship between teachers and students.

  • The Comillas education system is especially oriented towards the relationship with the reality of companies, institutions, organisations and professional practice. The Careers, Internships and Employment Guidance Service (OPE) is responsible for providing students with internships related to their studies in order to enrich their training. In the 2022-23 academic year, 7,101 student internships in companies were managed.

  • The Professional Careers, Internships and Employment Guidance Service (OPE) is the University's service dedicated to informing, guiding and collaborating in the insertion of recent graduates in the labour market or in the projection of the professional careers of Comillas graduates, for which it has an online tool that directly connects candidates with 8,302 companies with which Comillas maintains a relationship. During the 2022-23 academic year, 1,542 job offers were managed. Of the total number of graduates from the 2021 graduating class, 92% are employed, either working or furthering their studies, within six months of completing their studies.
