The ICAI Speed Club put its prototypes to the test at the IV edition of the Madrid Motor Student
2 October 2024
The Jarama circuit hosted the IV edition of the Madrid Motor Student, an event organised by the COGITIM - Colegio Oficial de Graduados e Ingenieros Técnicos Industriales de Madrid, where students from different universities were able to test their motorbike and formula projects. The ISC Racing Team had the opportunity to demonstrate on the asphalt the potential and development behind their prototypes.

As Guillermo Cadahía, team leader of the ISC MotoStudent Racing Team and student of the Degree in Industrial Engineering at Comillas ICAI, says that "going to a circuit like Jarama is always a great experience for the team, both in terms of learning how to move around a competition pit, as well as the satisfaction and motivation of seeing that the efforts and time invested in the project bear fruit and is something real and tangible".
Miguel Ángel Medina, team leader of the ISC FormulaStudent Racing Team and student of Industrial Engineering at Comillas ICAI, tells us that "this event allows us to show our projects to the students, family and friends who have heard so much about them. Racing at the Jarama Circuit is a great pride and joy for the team, which has been working all year to be able to race and compete during the event".
The ISC FormulaStudent Racing Team showed the full potential of its IFS-06 on the track. A car that stands out for its new features such as weight reduction compared to last year, the implementation of a new electronic system designed entirely by the team and the introduction of a new inverter, improving the power delivery.
In addition, with "Angela", their bike, on the tarmac, the ISC MotoStudent Racing Team was able to test the improvements that have been implemented in the competition prototype and check if they are fruitful or not.
But what goals does the ISC MotoStudent Racing Team have in mind? With their sights set on competing in 2025 and with the development of the next bike in mind, they continue to "work on Angela to solve a series of problems that we encountered in MotoStudent VII (2023) and to learn from them for the next prototype", says Cadahía. And what lies ahead for the ISC FormulaStudent Racing Team? The team will be looking to "change the concept of the single-seater. After consolidating the third year with a functional car, our goal is to design and build a single-seater that will be competitive in all the competitions", says Medina.
The season for the ICAI Speed Club has only just begun. There are new challenges and novelties ahead that you can't miss.
