During his speech, the Chief of the General Staff discussed the modernisation of the Spanish armed forces, speaking of two changes such as the move to a merit-based promotion system and the entry of women into the army. He also developed the transformation process that has taken place in recent years as a result of the transition to the Constitutional State and integration into NATO. Technological developments were also one of the main topics of his speech, analysing the important changes that have taken place in the army, new weapons, technological warfare and drones.
The meeting offered the university students a unique opportunity to learn first-hand about the functioning of the army and its role in society. Throughout the session, the students actively participated by raising their doubts and reflections in an enriching dialogue.
Through sessions like this, the Faculty of Law brings its students closer to the current legal and social reality, offering them a comprehensive training.
