This publication, by Professor Juan Antonio Marcos, is entitled "La performatividad del lenguaje místico (Sobre la recirculación res-verba en santa Teresa)". It is part of the collective work entitled Teresa de Jesús y su legado. Sanctity and Writing. 400 años de su canonización, edited by E. Borrego and C. Mata . Mata, and published by Iberoamericana-Vervuert (2024, ISBN: 978-84-9192-415-9).
This study is also part of the R+D+i project: "Mulier fortis, mulier docta. Hibridismo literario y cultura aurea en las comunidades carmelitas posteresianas, siglos XVI y XVII", funded by MCIN, to which Professor Marcos belongs as a member of the research team.
This project aims to address, firstly, the delimitation, edition and study of Carmelite works written after the death of Saint Teresa, with philological rigour and with the appropriate historical, sociological and cultural contextualisation, and if possible in relation to other disciplines, such as art, historiography or theology. Another part of the research work is also being devoted to the study of the projection of the Teresian legacy inside and outside Spain, paying attention to the earliest writings on the Saint, to the literature generated by the festivities of beatification (1614) and canonisation (1622), to the mark left on later generations by Teresa's way of celebrating Christmas and to the reception of her reform and her work in Italy.
