Silvia Bara Bancel, Professor of the Faculty of Theology, was interviewed by Prof. Carlos Ruta, PhD, at the Centro de Estudios de Hermenéutica of the Universidad Nacional San Martín (Argentina). The interview focused on Meister Eckhart, his disciple Enrique Suso, the Beguines, and the most significant Eckhartian contributions for our times.
The results of Silvia Bara's latest research on Eckhart's influence on the Spanish mystics, recently published, were also discussed: "El Maestro Eckhart en la mística española del s. Professor Silvia Bara Bancel holds a PhD in Theology, Department of Dogmatic and Fundamental Theology and has more than 20 years of teaching at Comillas Pontifical University, being a recognised expert on Meister Eckhart, Rhenish mysticism and medieval women mystics, especially the Beguines.
