Last Tuesday, 29 October, in the framework of the Pastoral Assembly of Vocational Training of EDUCSI (Schools of the Society of Jesus in Spain), Professor Gabino Uríbarri, SJ offered his reflection on his work Jesucristo para jóvenes. Claves pastorales para un mundo líquido (4th edition, SalTerrae, 2022. ISBN 978-84-293-3055-7).
Professor Uríbarri presented the main keys to an effective pastoral ministry, starting from a dogmatic north and a language of faith, stressing that prayer is the privileged door to approach the faith of the students.
The meeting was held in Salamanca, under the slogan Talitá kum, where more than 80 educators from the Jesuit Education network met at the San Ignacio Spirituality Centre in Salamanca. The full report of the event can be read here.
Professor Gabino Uríbarri Bilbao holds a PhD in Theology, Department of Dogmatic and Fundamental Theology, and is a recognised expert in Christology and Doctrine of Faith. He is a member of the International Theological Commission and Advisor to the Episcopal Commission for the Doctrine of the Faith (Spanish Episcopal Conference). He is also a Full Member of the Royal Academy of Doctors of Spain. His publications, in addition to the aforementioned book, include La plena humanidad de Jesucristo. Una discusión con J. Ratzinger ( BAC 2022) and El Hijo se hizo carne (Sígueme 2021).
