Our Mission
The University Institute of Family Studies, founded in 1984, has as its mission to research, teach, intervene and publicly reflect on the family as a fundamental community of society, paying special attention to those situations in which the family suffers from vulnerabilities.
We innovate programmes for families, children and the elderly and reflect on the role of the family and the home in society, especially among those who suffer from vulnerabilities.
The way of working of the institute is interdisciplinary and integrates collaborations from all the departments of Comillas Pontifical University, related to the areas of Engineering and New Information Technologies, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Philosophy, Sociology, Pedagogy and Education, Law, Economics and Business, International Relations, Migrations, Development Cooperation and Theology and Canon Law.
