Julio L. Martínez, SJ, preacher of the Spanish Bishops' Spiritual Exercises
The Professor Doctor of the Faculty of Theology and former Rector of Comillas will be in charge of giving the Spiritual Exercises to the Prelates of the Spanish Episcopal Conference.

Professor Dr. Julio Luis Martínez Martínez will be in charge of leading the Spiritual Exercises of the Spanish Bishops, organised by the Spanish Episcopal Conference. They will take place from 7 to 13 January 2024 and are expected to be attended by some 30 Bishops, including the President of the EEC, Cardinal Archbishop Juan José Omella, the Vice-President of the EEC, Cardinal Archbishop Emeritus of Madrid Carlos Osoro, and the Secretary General of the EEC, Auxiliary Bishop of Toledo, Francisco César García Magán.
The Professor of the Faculty of Theology, Julio L. Martínez, belonging to the Department of Moral Theology and Praxis of Christian Life, is a Doctor of Theology and a recognised expert in Public Theology, with special attention to the public life of religion and its political implications. He has also been Rector of Comillas Pontifical University from 2012 to 2021.
