The communication of the Social Doctrine of the Church: ad intra and ad extra from the perspective of integral ecology
Sal Terrae Magazine dedicates its latest issue to reflection on the Social Doctrine of the Church
Summary of the article by Jesús Sánchez Camacho
25 November 2024
The latest issue of the journal Sal Terrae - Revista de teología pastoral (n. 1304, November 2024) is dedicated to "La ¿olvidada? doctrina social de la Iglesia"(The forgotten? social doctrine of the Church).
This issue contains, among others, articles by José Manuel Aparicio, Jesús Sánchez Camacho, Julio L. Martínez and Pablo Guerrero.
For his part, Professor Jesús Sánchez Camacho, also Director of the Integral Ecology Unit at Comillas, stresses that integral ecology is, without doubt, a novelty for the Social Doctrine of the Church (DSI), involving anthropological, social and spiritual relations. This category, Sánchez points out, makes it possible to confront poverty as the restoration of dignity to the excluded and the protection of nature. However, there is still a long way to go to assimilate the foundations of integral ecology within the Church.
