Nurya Martínez-Gayol, Professor of the Faculty of Theology, closed the cycle of reflection "Hope in times of inclemency", organised by the evangelisation forum #VentanasADios, in the church of San Juan Bautista (Salamanca) last Monday evening, 28 October 2024.
His conference was entitled "The hope of today's man" and focused on the challenges and meanings of hope in today's world, stressing the need for our small hopes to be sustained by theological hope; and emphasising that "a hope that cannot be "for all" is not hope, a hope that does not embrace the totality of the human being, in all its dimensions, and that does not also embrace the earth, will not be a Christian hope, will not be the hope that today's man needs".
Professor Nurya Martínez-Gayol holds a PhD in Theology from the Department of Dogmatic and Fundamental Theology, and is an expert, among other disciplines, in Reconciliation, Theology of Reparation and Ignatian Spirituality. Her publications include the article "La esperanza cristiana"(Sal Terrae, vol. 112, no. 1300, pp. 501-514) and the work Reconciliación Transdisciplinar (Tirant Lo Blanch 2022).
