The Bachelor of Theology (Master) is the postgraduate study (Master of Theology), which presupposes the knowledge and skills acquired in previous studies (Bachelor of Theology; Master in Divinity and equivalent). The Faculty offers four specialisations: Dogmatic-Fundamental Theology, Sacred Scripture, Moral and Pastoral Theology and Spiritual Theology.
This officially recognised Master's degree is offered in classroom mode over two academic years. We present the speciality in Moral and Pastoral Theology:
Javier de la Torre, Director of the speciality in Moral and Pastoral Theology, points out that these official studies connect with the Bible, Tradition, the social Magisterium of the Church, human experience and dialogue with the human and social sciences in order to respond with truth and sincerity to the questions and concerns of the human heart. Topics such as marriage, the crisis, the family, war, migration, science, education, sexuality or affectivity, death and vulnerability are extensively dealt with by the best experts. Professor de la Torre affirms that this speciality aims to "follow the mandate of Pope Francis: a Theology in the key of mercy".
The Faculty of Theology at Comillas Pontifical University, with more than 120 years of commitment to academic and research excellence in service to the Church, has been recognised as a leader in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024, positioning it as the first Faculty of Theology in Spain and 29th worldwide.
