The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Comillas ICADE) of Universidad Pontificia Comillas has earned business accreditation from AACSB International. The recognition has been awarded by AACSB, a non-profit business school accrediting body founded in 1916 that connects educators, learners, and businesses to create the next generation of great leaders.
Stephanie M. Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB, recognizes that the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Comillas ICADE) “has demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curriculum development, and student learning”. Bryant also wanted to congratulate the faculty and the rector: “We congratulate Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Rector Enrique Sanz Giménez-Rico and Dean María Teresa Corzo on earning this accreditation and applaud the entire ICADE Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Comillas ICADE) team—including the administration, faculty, staff, and students—for their roles in earning this respected honour”.
In addition, it is noted that Comillas “enjoys a strong brand and excellent reputation at undergraduate level in Spain which enables the school to ensure a rigorous selection of candidates”. Teresa Corzo, dean of the faculty, pointed out that “curricular innovation, excellent candidates and proximity to business demands translate into very high employability rates and successful entry into labour markets”.
AACSB has recognised the pioneering character in curricular innovation and in student internationalization with double degree programs, international dual-degree programs, curricular internships, extensive international exchange programs. The organisation highlights that “the School Mission is closely aligned with the University’s nature and the Jesuit values for higher education: to educate competent, conscientious, critical, and compassionate business leaders capable of transforming the world”.
The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Comillas ICADE) highlights the “Universidad Pontificia Comillas’ commitment to earning accreditation is a true reflection of their dedication—not only to their students, alumni network, and greater business community, but to the higher education industry as a whole”. In her behalf, Bryant says that “today’s students are tomorrow’s business leaders, and the addition of the ICADE Faculty of Economics and Business Administration to the network of AACSB-accredited business schools will have a lasting positive impact for their institution, both ethically and globally”.
The accreditation AACSB inspires new ways of thinking within business education globally. As a result, less than 6 percent of the world's schools offering business degree programs hold AACSB business accreditation. Through today’s ratification, a total of 965 institutions across 60 countries and territories have earned AACSB accreditation in business.
