Licentiate Degree in Sacred Theology (Master's Degree in Theology)
Focus on cross-border, interdisciplinary and topical issues
What is the Licenciatura?
The Bachelor of Theology (S.T.L.) is a postgraduate study (Master of Theology), which presupposes the knowledge and skills acquired in previous studies (Bachelor of Theology; Master in Divinity and equivalent). The student concentrates his or her interest on a narrower field of study within the various areas of Catholic theology. It is structured in a two-year cyclical plan.
The Bachelor's Degree in Theology at Comillas enables students to deal competently with any subject related to their speciality. It is structured as an initiation to research, in each of the fields of attention, according to the theological methodology required by each area. Special attention is paid to a deepening of Catholic doctrine, taken from Sacred Scripture and tradition, in order to contribute to presenting the mystery of Christ with ever greater clarity, while taking into account the great contemporary cultural movements. These postgraduate studies in Theology pay special attention to frontier, interdisciplinary and current issues, without forgetting the richness of Christian Tradition.
It offers four specialisations: Dogmatic-Fundamental Theology, Sacred Scripture, Moral and Pastoral Theology and Spiritual Theology.
