Official Master's Degree in Financial Risk Management
What can the Master offer you?
The Master's Degree in Financial Risk Management is organised by the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies at Comillas Pontifical University (ICADE).
Its main objective is to provide professional and specialised training in financial risks, and it is divided into four modules. The first comprises the common training necessary to gain in-depth knowledge of the theoretical concepts required to develop the professional activity of financial risk manager. The second module provides students with specialised knowledge in this area. The third and fourth modules deal, respectively, with the Master's Final Project and internships in companies in the sector.
The sector is currently undergoing a radical transformation due to factors such as digitalisation and ESG(Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria, which makes financial risk professionals coveted assets for companies, reaching an employability of almost 100% 6 months after the end of the course.

The Master's Degree in Financial Risk Management equips students with skills that enable them to work in the following positions in the financial area.
Positions in the risk departments of companies in the financial sector (credit institutions, investment services companies, management companies of collective investment institutions and venture capital companies) and in non-financial sectors with strong regulation (industrial companies, telecommunications and energy).
Risk analysis positions in private equity firms, rating agencies, securitisation firms, research and consultancy firms and entities.
Positions linked to product development departments of financial institutions.
Posts integrated in planning and control departments.
Consultancy positions in Public Administrations and Regulatory Bodies.
In addition, the Master's Degree in Financial Risk Management allows access to an official doctoral program in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 99/2011, of 28 January, which regulates official doctoral studies.

Today, it has been a reference for more than half a century in the areas of Law and Business Administration and Management, playing a pioneering role in the implementation of double degree programs in our country.

Because Comillas studies are in high demand and places are limited, the best candidates have to be selected through admission tests.
Each class has its own tutor, whose function is to integrate the student into the group and to pay attention to their academic performance. Furthermore, at Comillas, the teaching system is distinguished, among other characteristics, by the personalised attention and the fluid and permanent relationship between teachers and students.
The teaching system at Comillas is especially oriented towards the relationship with the reality of companies, institutions, organisations and professional practice. The Internship and Employment Office is responsible for providing students with internships related to their studies in order to enrich their training. In the 2017-18 academic year, 6,296 student internships in companies were managed.
In addition to these internships managed by the Internship and Employment Office, all degree courses have a significant number of compulsory external internships as part of their curriculums.The Internship and Employment Office informs, guides and collaborates in the insertion in the labour market of recent graduates or in the projection of the professional career of Comillas graduates, for which it has an online tool that puts candidates in direct contact with 5,078 companies with which Comillas maintains a relationship. During the 2017-18 academic year, 1,838 job offers were managed. Of the total number of graduates from the 2018 graduating class, 93.22% are employed, either working or furthering their studies, within six months of completing their studies.
