The Master's Degree in International and European Business Law trains students to become legal advisors to companies and lawyers who operate internationally, within the European Union, and who have an in-depth knowledge of the applicable EU legislative framework, understand its implications and add value to their work by providing specialist advice on EU legal matters.
This master's degree offers a truly global and practical approach, as its curriculum is fully designed on the basis of international and EU law, and specifically tailored to the private international law needs of companies and international transactions.
The master's degree offers the opportunity to undertake internships in prestigious Spanish or international law firms located in Madrid. The work placement is complemented by visits to Brussels and Luxembourg to meet with EU policy makers and attend a hearing at the Court of Justice of the European Union.

Professional and academic opportunities
Internships are not part of the Master's Degree in International and European Business Law, and are not compulsory. However, students interested in undertaking an internship may do so during the master's program in order to gain real-world experience of working in law firms and companies.
Career opportunities:
The Master's Degree in International and European Business Law are tailored to the needs of "in house" and external advisors to companies operating internationally within the scope of the European Union. Holders of this degree will be in a good position to seek work as legal advisor to multinational companies with international activities in all industries. Moreover, students will be able to use the connection to the services and the pool of job offers of the employment service of Comillas Pontifical University.
Our students have gone on to work at leading international law firms such as Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, Seward and Kissel, and Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.
Academia:
As this is an official Master's program, students are able to access PhD programs in Spain and throughout the European Educational Area upon completion of this Master's program.
Student profile after master's graduation: Students graduating from the masters will have a strong knowledge of European business law and will be in a good position to work for law firms and companies doing business in Europe.
In addition, due to the multi-ethnic composition of the masters, students will also develop strong intercultural communicative skills and be able to work in teams and individually to carry out substantive legal work.
Students will also develop a number of important skills from this master's degree, including the ability to conduct extensive research on European law, carry out due diligence investigations and engage in international negotiations.

Today, it has been a reference for more than half a century in the areas of Law and Business Administration and Management, playing a pioneering role in the implementation of double degree programs in our country.

Because Comillas studies are in high demand and places are limited, the best candidates have to be selected through admission tests.
Each class has its own tutor, whose function is to integrate the student into the group and to pay attention to their academic performance. Furthermore, at Comillas, the teaching system is distinguished, among other characteristics, by the personalised attention and the fluid and permanent relationship between teachers and students.
The teaching system at Comillas is especially oriented towards the relationship with the reality of companies, institutions, organisations and professional practice. The Internship and Employment Office is responsible for providing students with internships related to their studies in order to enrich their training. In the 2017-18 academic year, 6,296 student internships were managed in companies.
In addition to these internships managed by the Internship and Employment Office, all degree courses have a significant number of compulsory external internships as part of their curriculums.The Internship and Employment Office informs, guides and collaborates in the insertion in the labour market of recent graduates or in the projection of the professional career of Comillas graduates, for which it has an online tool that puts candidates in direct contact with 5,078 companies with which Comillas maintains a relationship. During the 2017-18 academic year, 1,838 job offers were managed. Of the total number of graduates from the 2018 graduating class, 93.22% are employed, either working or furthering their studies, within six months of completing their studies.
