What is the Master?
The University Institute for Migration Studies (IUEM) has been organising this master's degree since 1997, training highly qualified professionals to develop their professional careers in the field of international development cooperation.
It is a multidisciplinary master's degree with professional skills, which offers you an introduction to research in order to gain access to a doctorate in international cooperation. You will acquire the necessary skills to work in national and international, public and private organisations, NGOs and NGDOs, regardless of the pathway you choose.
The comprehensive training of students is completed with internships inpublic or private organisations , which allows them to come into contact with the reality of international cooperation and development aid. Students of the master's degree will also have the possibility of carrying out these internships by applying for the summer volunteering experiences in Peru and Kenya. For former students, there is the possibility of doing internships in Chile, Peru and Cameroon.

The Master's Degree in International Development Cooperation responds to the need for professionals who are experts in the different areas related to development cooperation and its transversal axes, which implies its application in different fields and requires specific training with a focus on human rights.
Profile of graduates:
The necessary competences are provided so that the student can develop both theoretical analysis and carry out field work in the field of international cooperation, which is increasing thanks to the current globalising process. Students will be able to work and apply the knowledge acquired in national and international, public and private organisations, NGDOs and any other international cooperation agents.
This master's degree also provides access to the official PhD program in International Migration and Development Cooperation, which is taught at the University Institute for Migration Studies.
In addition, all students of the master's degree will benefit from the services of the Internship and Employment Office of Comillas Pontifical University.

Each class has its own tutor, whose function is to integrate the student into the group and to pay attention to their academic performance. Furthermore, at Comillas, the teaching system is distinguished, among other characteristics, by the personalised attention and the fluid and permanent relationship between teachers and students.
The teaching system at Comillas is especially oriented towards the relationship with the reality of companies, institutions, organisations and professional practice. The Internship and Employment Office is responsible for providing students with internships related to their studies in order to enrich their training. In the 2017-18 academic year, 6,296 student internships in companies were managed.
In addition to these internships managed by the Internship and Employment Office, all degree courses have a significant number of compulsory external internships as part of their curriculums.The Internship and Employment Office informs, guides and collaborates in the insertion in the labour market of recent graduates or in the projection of the professional career of Comillas graduates, for which it has an online tool that puts candidates in direct contact with 5,078 companies with which Comillas maintains a relationship. During the 2017-18 academic year, 1,838 job offers were managed. Of the total number of graduates from the 2018 graduating class, 93.22% are employed, either working or furthering their studies, within six months of completing their studies.
