The Professor of the Faculty of Theology, Juan Antonio Marcos, PhD, participated as a speaker at the LIV Theology Conferences of the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical University of Salamanca. Now, they are published with the lecture of our Professor.
The chapter "On the prayer of Jesus. Mysticism and speech acts", by Professor Marcos, develops a pragmatic approach to the Bible, distinguishing types and speech acts in the prayer of Jesus, to give rise to the Our Father as a cascade of petitions and to the effects and fruits of speech acts. This chapter is included in La oración en un mundo sin Dios (Pena González, M. A. ed., Biblioteca de Autores Cristianos, 2024, ISBN: 978-84-220-2329-6).
Professor Juan Antonio Marcos Rodríguez, of the Department of Moral Theology and Praxis of Christian Life, holds a PhD in Spanish Philology and is a recognised expert in Spanish mystics and spiritual language. He is also deputy director of the Centro Internacional Teresiano Sanjuanista (CITeS) - Universidad de la Mística, in Ávila.
