Last Wednesday, 23 October 2024, Professor Pedro Castelao was in charge of offering his reflection in the conference entitled "A God worthy of being believed".
Professor Castelao's conference took place in the context of the Theology Week of the course Faith and Development, at the Valladolid headquarters of the Society of Jesus in Castilla y León.
About the conference, the Vice-Dean points out:
The word "God" in our current context provokes different reactions. There are people who believe in Him, but who have rarely stopped to reflect on who or what they believe in. There are also others who do not believe in Him and who take it for granted that the image of God they reject is exactly the same as the God of believers. The question of God is as complex as it is inescapable and, for this reason, it seems to me very necessary to reflect on it, in order to purify all those conceptions of God that in many cases are taken for granted as if they were obvious, but which carry within them a multitude of presuppositions that have little or nothing to do with the God revealed in Jesus of Nazareth.
The full lecture is available online in open access.
