Pedro Linares, lecturer in Industrial Engineering at Comillas ICAI, has been appointed as editor-in-chief of The Energy Journal, one of the most important journals in the field of energy economics, published by the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE). Linares will take up his post in January to "design the editorial policy and manage the peer review process and publication of scientific articles in the journal", as he explains.
Linares - co-founder and director of Economics for Energy, director of the International Doctoral School at Comillas and researcher at the Institute for Research in Technology (IIT) at Comillas - will lead a team of editors with seven new additions. "We must ensure that each article has the proper review and optimal distribution among the editors," explains Linares, who takes over from the previous editor-in-chief, Adonis Yatchew.
The lecturer at Comillas ICAI, one of the most renowned experts in energy in Spain, assures that "I accept the position with enthusiasm to contribute to continuing to strengthen the prestige of The Energy Journal and to make it a reflection of the great work carried out by the members of the IAEE".
Linares - who has published several research papers in the journal - will hold the position for five years and has no doubt that "it is an opportunity to give greater visibility to the role of the university and the IIT in the field of energy economics".
