The Procedural Law Area of the Faculty of Law (Comillas ICADE) organised, together with the Centre for Innovation in Law (CID-ICADE), the conference "TLa reconfiguración del proceso civil: acciones colectivas, digitalización y tecnologías disruptivas". Leading university professionals, lecturers and magistrates took part, all under the academic direction of several lecturers from the faculty.
The large attendance and the quality of the interventions during the conference - which "comes at a more than opportune and pertinent moment and above all because of the quality of the speakers", as Abel Veiga, Dean of the Faculty of Law (Comillas ICADE) said - gave rise to an intense and very interesting debate on current procedural issues in particular and legal issues in general.
In this regard, Sara Díez, Professor of Procedural Law at Comillas ICADE and one of the academic directors of the conference, stressed that "we have managed to bring top-notch speakers and we are honoured that they have accepted our invitation".
Díez emphasised that the Congress was held "within the framework of the latest major reforms that have taken place in procedural matters" and that "the main lines that have been addressed have been digital action and defence, collective actions, ADR, digitalisation and artificial intelligence".
The experts who took part in this congress agreed that the Organic Law on Measures for the Efficiency of the Public Justice Service draws a new judicial map that raises doubts about its efficiency. Furthermore, Díez insisted that maximum use should be made of "appropriate dispute resolution systems and avoid the judicialisation of litigation". It was also stressed that the digitisation of justice in Spain is a necessary technological challenge to guarantee its agility, accessibility and efficiency.
